AUTHOR BIO
(No author bio/photo available for Ethan Winters)
Cerys lives in New Hampshire in the New England area of the United States. She spends her days writing, reading, learning, and working. Some of her most favorite activities involve understanding and learning about the human psychology.

She enjoys pondering sexuality and human response to it. Most of her writing delves into this in some way, exploring reactions and relationships between different people. While she enjoys writing erotica, her goal is to also keep a certain literary appeal to the writing instead of something purely pornographic.

She prefers fantasy settings, with magic, monsters, intrigue, and epic adventures. Her secret kinks include blackmail/coercion, reluctance/dubious consent, and prostitution. She loves writing about all of these things, though very strongly acknowledges they are simply exciting fantasies and nothing more.

Book Blast: Goddess Born by Kari Edgren

goddess born cover

Goddess Born
Pennsylvania, 1730 Selah Kilbrid keeps a dangerous secret: she has the power to heal. A direct descendent of the Celtic goddess Brigid, it’s Selah’s sacred duty to help those in need. But as the last of the Goddess Born living in the New World, she learned from an early age to keep her supernatural abilities hidden. The Quaker community of Hopewell has always been welcoming, but there’s no doubt they would see her hanged if her gift was revealed. When a prominent minister threatens to try her with witchcraft unless she becomes his wife, Selah has only one hope—that her betrothed, a distant cousin from Ireland, arrives as planned. Marrying Samuel would keep her secret safe, preserve her sacred bloodline, and protect her from being charged as a witch. But when news of Samuel’s death reaches the Colonies, Selah is truly on her own. Terrified, she faces an impossible choice—forfeit her powers and marry the loathsome Nathan? Or find an imposter to pose as her husband and preserve her birthright?

  ABNA Publisher Weekly Reviewer

Set in the colony of Pennsylvania in 1730, this riveting novel begins as 18-year-old Selah Kilbrid runs into Quaker minister Nathan Crowley, a man who “labor[ed] under the delusion that [Selah] would soon be his wife” despite the fact that she was betrothed to a man on his way to America from Ireland. Nathan tells Selah that if she refuses him, he will have her “charged as a witch” because of her ability to heal the sick. To avoid Nathan’s plan to marry her the following Sunday, she leaves for Philadelphia to wait for the arrival of her betrothed and marry him before returning home. In Philadelphia, she discovers that her betrothed has died at sea. She then purchases Henry, an indentured servant, and convinces him to pose as her husband and help protect her from Nathan. As the story continues, the reader learns of Selah’s family history and the powers she possesses; Selah is half human, half goddess. It's important that her secret stay safe, because if discovered, she could be killed. The characters are well developed and relatable; the reader empathizes with Selah and her plight. The fast-paced plot is exciting and keeps the reader guessing and in suspense. The end leaves room for a sequel, which, after such a tremendous beginning, would be anxiously awaited. A clear winner!

 Author Kari Edgren

Kari Edgren Kari Edgren did not dream of becoming a writer. Instead, she dreamed of everything else and was often made to stay inside during kindergarten recess to practice her letters. Despite doting parents and a decent school system, Ms. Edgren managed to make it through elementary school having completed only one book cover to cover – The Box Car Children, which she read approximately forty-seven times. Things improved during high school, but not until she read Gabrielle Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude in college, did she truly understand the power of a book. Ms. Edgren aspires to be a Vulcan, a world-acclaimed opera singer, and two inches taller. She resides in the Pacific NW where she spends a great deal of time torturing her husband and children with strange food and random historical facts. Ms. Edgren hasn’t stopped dreaming, but has finally mastered her letters enough to put the stories on paper.

Review & Giveaway: Haunted Moon (Otherworld #13) by Yasmine Galenorn

Haunted Moon (Otherworld #13)

(Taken from Goodreads)
We’re the D’Artigo sisters: savvy half-human, half-Fae ex-operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. My sister Delilah is a two-faced werecat and a Death Maiden. My sister Menolly is a vampire married to a werepuma. And me? I’m Camille, a wicked-good witch with three sexy husbands. I’m a priestess of the Moon Mother, and I’m training under the Queen of Darkness. Unfortunately, playing in the dark means that sometimes you stumble over secrets better left buried…

There’s a new Fae sorcerer in town—Bran, the son of Raven Mother and the Black Unicorn—and I’m the unwilling liaison between him and our new Earthside OIA. With cemeteries being ransacked and spirits being harvested by a sinister, otherworldly force, Aeval sends us to rescue the missing wife of a prominent member of the Fae nobility. Our search leads us to the mysterious Aleksais Psychic Network and, ultimately, to face the Lord of Ghosts where Morio and I must undergo a ritual that will plunge us directly into the world of the dead.

My Review: This is book 13 in a FANTASTIC series.
Let me start with the cover. A beautiful brunette woman, hair blowing in the wind, a beautiful fox in the background, the fox and the what looks like a moon is melding together. Another beautiful cover for this series.
The Book: If you have never read one of these books, then you have been missing out on a fun ride. Each book is narrated by one of the three sisters, which makes the series even more interesting because of the different point-of-views and more of the storyline.

This book is narrated by Camille D'Artigo, the oldest of the three sisters. She is a smoking bombshell with three schmexy husbands who lover her unconditionally. Camille is a witch who serves under the Moon Mother. There is a war going on, and the sisters are deeply involved. To keep the FBH's (Full Blooded Humans) safe from the darkness that is trying to come. In this attempt to keep the FBH's unaware, something goes horribly wrong and FBH's find out a dirty little secret and they cannot handle it.
The sisters rush into action for damage control and to figure out the future and how to keep things quiet, if it is at all possible.

Camille has grown so much since the first book, Witchling. She has learned that life isn't as simple as she had hoped it to be as well as learning to let her sisters and family take the lead on tasks and follow their lead. She is learning who she will become under her Moon Mother. She is watching her family grow mentally and physically. All the while fighting the bad guys, staying alive, and finding family time.

What if you were the key to an ancient prophecy that would begin to heal your lands, but fulfilling your destiny meant you had to turn your back on everything you'd been taught to believe in?

Redlynn of Volkzene, member of the Sisterhood of Red, is heartbroken to discover another girl kidnapped and her best friend slain by werewolves. Defying the head of her order, she sets out to kill the beast she believes responsible. The King of the Weres-- But there are worse things inWolvenglen Forest than the wolves.

Adrian, reluctant heir to the throne of Wolvenglen, and his band of wolf brothers are bound to protect the humans; especially the Sisterhood. Finding Redlynn unconscious in his woods, awakens in him a passion he's never before experienced and a protective instinct that has him ready to turn on his own men. Problem is, a female is the last thing Adrian needs complicating his life.

Excerpt #1:

Another girl had been taken. One moment the small village of Volkzenewas silent, with Redlynn drifting off to sleep to the rhythmical sounds of her clock ticking, the next a scream pierced the night.

Redlynn leapt from her bed, grabbed her sword, and tore out to the street. People in their nightclothes, brandishing torches and lanterns, filled the village center.

"Where are they?" she called at the nearest neighbor.

"Cantrel's." The woman ran for the safety of her home.

Anya! Redlynn sprinted toward the south edge of the village. Her best friend was on guard alone at the Cantrel's hut. Breathing hard, the cold night wind whipped her wavy, red hair into her face and raised goosebumps on her skin. The sound of her blood pumping in her ears drowned out the buzz of the village folk.

"Anya," she screamed. "Anya, where are you?"

Redlynn charged through the crowd gathered outside the hut. "Move," she yelled. The other members of the Sisterhood and villagers backed away at the sight of her.

The smell of blood hit her. She stepped over the threshold, the horror slapping her with force. Her heart faltered and a cry escaped her lips.

"Noooooooo!" she screamed. "Anya!"

Anya's mangled body lay sprawled on the floor, her bow still clutched in her fingers. Redlynn's mind numbed, unable to process the scene. She spun slowly on the spot. An arrow stuck in the wall next to the door. Bits of wood were strewn about from the smashed kitchen table. Coals tumbled from the fire, and little more than charred cinders remained of the curtains. A pail of water lay discarded nearby. The Cantrel's huddled on their bed in the adjoining room, Mrs. Cantrel sobbed into her husband's chest.

"Sasha, my Sasha," Mrs. Cantrel moaned.

Anger and despair ripped through Redlynn's gut. Her sword hit the floor with a clatter and she collapsed to her knees gathering her best friend's bloody body in her arms. She sucked in large gasps of air, tears streaming down her cheeks. The very last of my loved ones.

Anya stared blankly into the night, her eyes transfixed and cloudy. Redlynn stroked her hair and tried in vain to piece the skin together on Anya's neck and torso. At just nineteen, Anya had been through so much in her short life; too much, and now it was over. Sadness gave way to anger and bile scorched her throat.

"This is your fault," Mrs. Cantrel screeched pointing at Redlynn. "Where were you? You were supposed to stand guard with Anya."

Redlynn swallowed the angry words she wanted to say. "I'll find Sasha," she promised the teary eyed mother.

"Find her? Those beasts have probably already torn her to bits. You're the protector and where were you? Asleep. To let my Sasha be taken and poor Anya to be murdered. If you can’t even do the one thing we've kept you around for, what good are you?"

The words slapped Redlynn in the face. Her throat went dry. She searched for something to say. Something to soothe the mother, to soothe herself. "I'll find her."

"Get out of my house, Cursed!" Mrs. Cantrel screamed.

Redlynn's heart thundered in her chest. She laid Anya down, grabbed her sword and pushed out the door, past the crowd of Sisters and villagers. Running flat out she made for the village gate.

Excerpt #2:

Adrian reveled in the feel of Redlynn in his arms. It felt so natural for her to be there. It had been too long since he'd felt the touch of a woman. She looked up at him and licked her lips. Adrian's heartbeat quickened. He told himself that he needed to get her into her own room. But his body didn't move.

"Your heart is racing," she murmured.

He couldn’t speak. Her sweet breath fell lightly on his skin, cooling it.

"Why did you save me in the woods?"

Because you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, and probably the one I am meant to take as a mate. "Because you were hurt."

"But you don't know me."

Adrian's eyebrows drew together. "Does that matter?"

"Most people would have left me for dead."

Anger soured his thoughts. Is that what had become of the Sisterhood? Were all males outside of Wolvenglen so callous? How could someone not stop and help a female in need? "Well, I'm not most people."

"No. You're not," she slurred. Her gaze shifted to his lips. She touched his cheek and then ran her fingers through his long hair. "Your hair's soft."

Adrian didn't dare breathe. A flesh and blood woman with golden eyes, and the mark of the wolf was in his arms. It went against everything he'd promised himself he wouldn't do. All the other females he'd said no to. All the years spent burying any desire to find a mate and settle down. All the times he told himself he wouldn't end up like his father. Bending his head, he breathed her in. She lifted her chin. Their lips were inches apart and he tasted her breath in his mouth.

"Adrian," she whispered.

He plunged down and closed the distance between them. The moan that escaped her was enough to send his wolf howling for more. Tangling his hand in her hair he guided her mouth to his more fully. Her lips parted and their tongues mingled in a soft swirl. His mind went numb. Adrian pressed closer to her and her arm twitched. He pulled away quickly.

"Are you alright?" He searched her face for signs of distress.

"It's my shoulder."

Dammit! He shouldn’t be doing this. It wasn't fair to lead her on. Especially with her medicated. "You should rest." He laid her on the pillow.

"Yes." Her eyes held desire and resistance. "I'm sorry for taking your bed again."

Me too. "It's fine. I can stay somewhere else."

"You can stay."

Adrian swallowed. It had gone too far. She wanted him to stay. Part of him wanted to say yes.

REVIEW: The Reporter & The Girl (Minus The Super Man!) by S.C.Rhyne

The Reporter & The Girl
(Minus The Super Man!)
by S.C. Rhyne

http://thereporterandthegirl.com/
Welcome to the rabbit hole...
I am the last person in New York City who would fall head over heels in love.
Independent. Self-possessed. Why would I want to f**k that up?
My online dating profile at bd-fet.com simply reads: “Just looking.”

So why am I obsessing about Jon Sudbury?
Jon, the reporter, is vanilla as a milkshake and has probably never tasted rice and beans on the same plate before we met.

At least that’s what I thought.
Why can’t people remain simple and predictable?
All I want is control, not to be sent hurtling at maximum speed into the unknown.

Nothing about our story makes sense.
The thing is, I can handle desire, lust, passion, even betrayal...

But love is another world altogether.

And this is not a love story.

*For mature audiences only
____________________________________

My Review:
Let me first start with the cover:
A drawing of a woman of color being held by a fairer skinned man. Both of them holding a pink stick. Is it a cane? Is it a walking stick? I am very curious about the stick and its significance in the book. I love the title because it is intriguing, "The Reporter & The Girl (Minus The Super Man!)."

The Book:
First I must say that this book is ONLY for mature adults. This book does reference fetish lifestyle, which includes BDSM. This is not your Fifty Shades I'm speaking of. However, please know that is is within the first few chapters then not revisited. But for me, what I did read was a bit more than I could handle, or rather I was prepared for. Author, S.C. Rhyne is a wonderful person, and when I communicated with her, she shared that it was just a small portion. I continued with the book, and I'm very glad I did.

We meet Sabrien, who is looking to meet someone to spend time with and has the same interests as she does. She meets several guys but one stood out from the rest and caught her attention, an eccentric, fowl mouth young man named Jon.

Her and Jon hit it off and their adventure begins.

This is a story of a young New York couple who get caught up in the moment. Both enjoying a fetish lifestyle in the beginning but then learning one another. Albeit on two different pages. Sabrien is finding out more about herself as a woman in a relationship, allowing herself explore feelings that she had denied herself. However this is all within, she is showing Jon a different side.
Jon was also showing one side of him that he thought Sabrien wanted to see.

So what happens when two sides are feeling one way, but doing something different?

Rhynes, allowed readers to get a small taste of Jon, by allowing Jon's POV come through in a couple of chapters. It was very refreshing, and honestly it had me wanting more. I really wanted to know more of what Jon was feeling.

An additional great part of the book, was watching Sabrien learn more about herself, she opened herself up to others opinions. She grew quite a bit in the book. She is what you expect for a young twenty-something trying to figure her life out.

In the end the story left me wanting more, and in my book, that is always a great thing.

This book definitely Kept Me Interested.

Blog Tour: STIM by Kevin Berry and GIVEAWAY

STIM
by Kevin Berry

Kindle Edition, 176 pages
Published October 16th 2013 by Waspie Publishing

Robert is different. He has Asperger's Syndrome. He experiences the world differently to 99% of the population. Follow his entertaining and highly empathetic story as he struggles to realise and accept who he really is, try to understand other people—which he cannot—and find a girlfriend. Especially find a girlfriend—he's decided it's his special project for the year. Accompanied on this transformative journey by his quirky flatmates, Chloe (who also has Asperger's, amongst other things), Stef (who hasn't, but doesn't mind) and their oddly-named kitten, Robert endures a myriad of awkward moments in his quest to meet a nice, normal girl...and not even a major earthquake will stop him.

This absorbing and humorous story is starkly told from Robert's point of view, through the kaleidoscope of autistic experience.

_______________________________
My Review:

First the Cover: Well a young man with a book on his head looking confused? Scared? I'm not sure. But what attracted me to the book was the title "STIM" I wanted to know what on earth that meant and how it applied to the story.

The Book: We meet an young man named Robert who has Asperger's, he is at college when he happens to meet a very eccentric young lady Chloe. Chloe is beautiful, stands out in a crowd and has blue hair... she also has Asperger's.
Chloe takes Robert under her wing and helps him on his quest to find himself a "normal" girlfriend.

The beauty of this book is that it is in the POV of a person living with Asperger's and how he thinks and sees the world is totally different than a person without Aspergers. I enjoyed his matter-of-fact attitude toward life, how his thoughts are logical, not over thought and fluffed for personal gain. The simplistic way he approaches life.

As a reader, my heart melted with each attempt at love. And I was giving high fives to Chloe because she is a fire pistol that knows exactly what to say and do at the right moment.

A part of the book that still keeps me giggling is when they go searching for their little kitten... A MUST READ!

All in all, because this book was so different, and written from the perspective of a young man with Asperger's. The book was fantastic. Its an empathetic walk... no journey that everyone should embark upon. I promise that when you end the book, you will look at life much differently. In a more positive way. For that alone, I rate this book at HOT PAGE TURNER!
