Interview with Nely Cab

1. Tell us 5 words to describe Creatura.
Love Story, Thrilling, Surprising, Different, Intoxicating

2. Which was the main reason you started writing it?
I started writing out of boredom and took it up as hobby. I had enjoyed writing when I was younger and decided that this was something that only required my imagination and my computer.

3.How do you see your future as a writer?
I try to stay positive about new doors being opened for me as a writer even though there is a lot of competition in the literary world. But for now, I will to continue writing for you and the rest of the YA reader out there and hope for the best in my future.

4. Do you find yourself reflected in any of the characters? In which one and in what way?
I find myself relating mostly to Nyx and Claire because they are both mothers and like to cook. They take care of their families and are ready to defend their children like a lioness.

5.  Tell us one favorite book you've read or you want to read (except yours , of course, hihi!)
I really want to read a lot of books, but one that has caught my eye recently is “Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

6. My interview ends here so I invite you to say something for my readers and your fans (or future fans).
I’d like you all to know that your support and your interest in “Creatura” overwhelm me. I never expected such a warm reception when I first published my book, especially not from people outside the U.S. I thought for a long time that no one would take interest in my novel. But now, to know that it will soon be in a country as beautiful as Romania and read by its people that are equally or more beautiful, gives me inspiration to write. Thank you for being a part of my world and a huge part of motivation.

Dexter's Final Cut: A Novel

Dexter

 (From Amazon)
Lights. Camera. Mayhem. You won't find this story on television.

Hollywood gets more than it bargained for when television's hottest star arrives at the Miami Police Department and develops an intense, professional interest in a camera-shy blood spatter analyst named Dexter Morgan.

Mega-star Robert Chase is famous for losing himself in his characters. When he and a group of actors descend on the Miami Police Department for "research," Chase becomes fixated on Dexter Morgan, the blood spatter analyst with a sweet tooth for doughnuts and a seemingly average life. To perfect his role, Chase is obsessed with shadowing Dexter's every move and learning what really makes him tick. There is just one tiny problem . . . Dexter's favorite hobby involves hunting down the worst killers to escape legal justice, and introducing them to his special brand of playtime. It's a secret best kept out of the spotlight and away from the prying eyes of bloated Hollywood egos if Dexter wants to stay out of the electric chair. The last thing he needs is bright lights and the paparazzi. . . but even Dexter isn't immune to the call of fame.

Jeff Lindsay's razor sharp, devilish wit, and immaculate pacing prove that he is in a class of his own, and this new novel is his most masterful creation yet.

"There was no going back, though. He'd committed himself, and one way or the other gravity was going to win and take him down to earth - so better it be on the outside than the inside."

From Goodreads:

After the accident, his amnesia is just the kind of mystery she likes to solve, but she soon discovers they're over their heads with his past. Over their heads with passion, too ...As shadows walk the line between reality and another realm, and her lover's memory begins to come back, the two of them learn that nothing is truly dead and buried. Especially when you're trapped in a no-holds-barred war between angels and demons. With a soul on the line, and Mels's heart at risk, what in heaven - or in hell - will it take to save them both?

After reporter Mels Carmichael hits a disheveled man with her car
outside the local cemetery, she pays a visit to the stranger in the hospital. The only thing he remembers of his past is seeing a name written on a headstone: that of Jim Heron—a fallen angel charged with rescuing souls from the seven deadly sins. Broken Pieces by Kelsie Blanton

Broken Pieces

(From Goodreads)
Losing the love of your life is one of the hardest things a person can experience. Losing the love of your life in an automobile accident that you walked away from is even harder.

When everything in her life falls apart, Allie Combs is left to slowly piece it back together. In a matter of just a few hours, her life hits rock bottom, and the only person she has to help her through it is her best friend, Macy Philips.

Going on a journey around the world, Allie will learn much about herself. Will she finally let go of the guilt that has consumed her since the accident and live life to the fullest? Can she put the pieces of her life back together and still remember her love’s smile?

My Review:

I loved Kelsie Blanton’s book, Broken Pieces. First let me start by reviewing the cover, since covers are my thing. What stood out was the young lady with her beautiful green eyes staring at me. I could not tell what her expression was. Was she happy? Was she sad? All I know was that her eyes were beckoning me to find out more and that her story was going to captivate me. Let me just say, her eyes did not lie.

Author Kelsie Blanton packed such a powerful and emotional story in less than 100 pages. At the end I was left saying “Wow! How did she do that?”

She introduces us to Allie Combs and by page 4 you are totally vested in Allie’s story and her journey to try and heal. Blanton made it easy for the reader to feel like you are part of Allie’s quest to figure out if it is possible to move forward after such a tragic loss.

Then you meet her best friend Macy Phillips. I fell in love with Macy because Blanton made this character so loveable and wanting more of her.

Macy holds Allie’s hand as she attempts her first baby-steps to heal and the reader can feel Macy’s struggle when she watches her best friend fall time and time again from such a tragedy to when Macy has to decide if it’s time to let go of Allie’s hand so that Allie can try and find her own way, while always being there to support Allie and be her rock, should she need it.

We watch Allie struggle with coping with a future without the person she loves and trying to figure out if it is worth moving forward when the past was so great. Her story leaves you whispering to the book, "you can do it."

Blanton gives the reader such a great emotional story that will keep you turning the pages. Warning: A box of tissues is suggested, trust me it is totally worth it!

I cannot wait to see what else Blanton has in store for her readers.

Broken Pieces is without a doubt a HOT- Page Turner!!!!
